A simpler way to plan a long trail.
I’m Simon — a qualified Mountain Leader and long-distance walker. Trailstrider grew out of planning my own trips: brilliant trails, useful information scattered everywhere, and far too many tabs between an idea and a workable plan.
I wanted one calm place to choose a trail, understand what the days might feel like, and sort the practical bits.
Made for the bit before the first step
Putting together a long trail is rarely straightforward. Route stages, seasons, transport and places to stay — the useful pieces are out there, but they don’t sit together.
Trailstrider brings them into one place so you can spend less time wrestling with admin and more time looking forward to the walk.

The places behind the idea
These are a few moments from trails I’ve walked around the world — from cloud inversions and glaciers to volcanic ground. They’re here as a glimpse of the experience behind Trailstrider, and a reminder of what all the planning is for.
Keeping Trailstrider going
Trailstrider is self-funded. I cover the ongoing cost of maps, weather and other data, hosting, and building the product myself. Those costs add up quickly. One-off donations help keep the existing service running and make room for new trails and features.
